We Got Our Just Desserts

I got the most divine recipe for Cherry Crisp from Gluten Free Mommy. It was simple, fresh and delicious. My favorite part is that it's NATURALLY gluten free, rather than using modified products. Ok, so it's a lot of fat and sugar - it's a DESSERT, not health food! But most desserts are full of gluten, and those that aren't are dairy products. So dessert isn't something we have a lot of around here. Or it's GFCF cookies or cake - which are either expensive mixes or premade and usually full of chemicals to get the GFCF. From scratch is a challenge since it takes a combination of different non-wheat flours to get anything even vaguely resembling a wheat flour. And let's face it, the end result still leaves something to be desired.

So, back to the Cherry Crisp. It was fabulous!! A new family favorite - and it will definitely be making an appearance at the holidays! The perfect alternative to a traditional pie. I'm going to be trying lots of more recipes over the next few months. I hope to expand my repertoire. I'm still searching for the perfect GFCF lasagne crockpot recipe. I found one involving eggplant. I'm willing to give it a try, I bought a couple of eggplants and everything! Fingers crossed!!

1 Leavin' me some love!:

I found you through SITS and saw that you're also a gluten free blogger, so I got really excited!

That cherry crisp looks delicious! Now I want to make some. It's always exciting to come across things that are naturally gluten free, even though I do love to try to adapt things anyways. :)

Take Care!
